Invited Sessions

Each Invited Session will be hosted in a room equipped with a computer, multimedia projector and laser pointer. Invited Sessions are organized by internationally recognized institutions that have made significant contributions to the domain of Electronic Governance. The organizers are free to decide on the structure of their Invited Session.

The institution responsible for the Invited Session is expected to designate the Session Chair to conduct the session. Invited Sessions may include presentations, discussions, demos, etc. to feature the institution, its work, experience and outcomes. It is recommended to utilize the sessions for network- and collaboration-building, particularly to allow enough time for questions and answers

Tutorials

Each Tutorial Organizer should send tutorial slides to the Tutorials Chair (elsa@iist.unu.edu) at least a week before the conference to ensure sufficient time for photocopying.

Horizontal Tutorials, scheduled on Monday 1 December, are assigned 2 hours and 40 minutes each. Vertical Tutorials, scheduled on Tuesday and Wednesday 2 and 3 December, are assigned 1 hour and 20 minutes each. Each Tutorial Organizer is responsible for utilizing the alloted time and the presence of the audience to the maximum, in order to achieve the best possible teaching results. Engaging the audience with discussion as well as linking the tutorials to the accompanying workshop on Thursday, are strongly recommended. Given the duration of Horizontal Tutorials, a short informal break is recommended.

Each presentation room will be equipped with a computer, multimedia projector and a laser pointer.

It is recommended to build this presentation upon the concepts introduced during the accompanying tutorial. Subsequently, for each paper or case study assigned to the workshop, the Organizer is expected to introduce the presenter, moderate the presentation, and the direct the following discussion. Presentations should generally not exceed 25 minutes with additional 5 minutes for questions and answers. Every Workshop Organizer will receive a document comprising the workshop schedule, titles of all papers to be presented and the names of all presenters. In addition, each Organizer will receive three cards to indicate the remaining time for presentations: i) Green - 5 minutes, ii ) Yellow - two minutes, and iii) Red - zero minutes.

Panel Discussions

Each Panel Discussion will be hosted in a room equipped with a computer, multimedia projector and laser pointer. While the Panel Chair may prepare some organizing slides, it is not recommended for the panelists to do so. Each panel session will last for one hour.
